THE CONFIDENT WOMAN - CHAPTER 1
Joyce talks about confidence in chapter 1.
I totally agree with her when she says that
"confident people do not concentrate on their weaknesses,
they develop and maximize their strengths." (page 3)
I have always had that view. Why concentrate on trying to do
things I am not really good or gifted at, when there is so much I
am great at? Yes, I believe that we should be at least competent in all areas of our lives, after all, the bible says that we can do all things through Christ, but that does not mean that I should spend all my time on things that I will never really excel at. Instead I should develop those gifts God has given me!
Let me see, so I know that I don't like doing the dishes, so Joyce is saying it's ok to outsource that job to the dishwasher! I love this book already :)
Seriously,
What are you really good at? What do people around you always comment you on? It's probably something you enjoy doing too. I'm going to stop spending time feeling bad about the things I just can't seem to master no matter how much I try and spend some extra time on the things I am good at....math, reading, balancing my checkbook...What do you think? Please share your thoughts on this. If you haven't already, get the book and start reading!
